Parish Path Adopters
Parish Path Adopters is a scheme from Essex Area Ramblers that Maldon and Dengie have promoted and enhanced, working with our Essex Highways Footpath Officer (EHFO), where individuals or groups can help keep our footpaths open and safe.
We currently need new Adopters. So, what does a PPA do?
There are numerous aids that we can use, and coaching will be provided as required but the main aids are:

- Walk every path in their allocated Parish once each year.
- For each path note any faults found or none if appropriate.
- Report their findings to the PPA Coordinator who clarifies what has been found with the Adopter.
- The PPA Coordinator will then work with the EHFO to log as appropriate any faults agreed and let the adopter know.
