Wickham Bishops Bridleway 19 Closure Update

Letter from the Footpaths officer

Hi Andy,
Just to let you know that we have had to close Bridleway 19 Wickham Bishops with immediate effect due to a serious structural problem with one of the old railway bridges over the route.
Our structural engineer has had a look at the bridge and thinks there is a real risk that bricks could fall from the structure onto users of the bridleway.
The bridleway is likely to remain closed for some time.
I will be contacting landowners over the next few days to see if we can agree an alternative route using adjacent field headlands.
